Major Responsibilities :
- Establish/strengthen community-based mechanisms to identify children who are out of school in order to reintegrate them into school, with a special focus on returnees, displaced persons, refugees and other vulnerable children who are difficult to access
- Set up a mechanism for reporting and managing complaints in schools, which is supervised by communal structures
- Ensure timely distribution of planned pedagogical materials, other supports are completed in due time
- Organize training/refresher sessions for CPEs and CGEs on child protection against abuse and violence, including GBV
- Organize Training of primary school teachers and supervisory staff on topics that strengthen their teaching skills, gender mainstreaming, including in emergency situations
- Ensure targeted psychosocial support services are provided in schools for students and teachers in need (listening, counseling, referral to specialized services)
- Setting up and supervising discussion groups for teachers to help them externalize burning issues and support each other, based on MHPSS guidelines
- Organize remedial courses for children who have interrupted their schooling or are at risk of dropping out
- Support the community development and implementation of joint disaster risk reduction action plans, violence against students and emergency management in targeted schools
- To ensure gender mainstreaming in all education activities and keep records.
Profil recherché pour le poste : Grant Officer Gender Qualifications, Technical skills and experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences or other degree with a diploma in education
- Minimum experience of three years in Education project implementation with reputable institution, national or international NGO
- Good understanding of education gender concepts and issues in development context, especially in Burundi
- Working knowledge of the logical framework approach to project design, monitoring and evaluation/ project cycle management
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills with a passion for sharing knowledge
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
- Must be a committed Christian who is able to stand above denominational and cultural diversity challenges
- Must be able to provide spiritual leadership within, but not limited to, chapel and daily devotions
- Must have outstanding oral and written communications and relationship skills and have strong community mobilisation skills
- Must be willing to perform other duties as required
- Have driving Licence A Category.
