Senior Health Systems Strengthening Advisor - Guinea LHSSA

Specific duties and responsibilities include the following :

• Provides technical leadership in the area of health systems strengthening at national and community levels, including human resources for health, health information systems, logistics, and management and/or administration.
• Advises the DCOP and COP and serves as subject matter and technical expert.
• Supervises, mentors, and collaborates with technical experts in HSS, private sector and community engagement, supply chains, and data/HMIS systems.
• Supports country-level policymakers in strategic planning and management, systems development, and strengthening health information systems, human resource management, quality assurance, and commodity management.
• Ensures that project strategies, activities, and implementation are in line with the latest best practices regarding human resources for health, health information systems, logistics, and management.  
• Using a collaborative style of working, communicates effectively with other senior management team members, partners, and supervisors and contributes directly to monitoring and evaluation reports.
   

Qualification requirements include the following :

• Master’s Degree in public health, medicine, or other related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of health system strengthening experience, including in West Africa and preferably in Guinea.
• Strong knowledge of USAID rules, regulations, procedures and reporting requirements.
• Experience in senior technical or leadership positions including experience managing other staff.
• Experience in planning and implementing programming that integrates gender equality and social inclusion highly desirable.
• Experience facilitating trainings and workshops focusing on health systems strengthening.
• Professional experience interacting with U.S. Government agencies, host country governments, private sector, community groups, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills in French and working proficiency in English.
